Die Mitgliederausstellung 2023 ist dem komplexen Verhältnis zwischen Mensch und Natur gewidmet. Rund 30 Kunstschaffende der Künstlerhaus Vereinigung eröffnen
mit ihren transmedialen Werken ein weites narratives Feld: Sie verhandeln den Status Quo unseres bedrohten Planeten genauso wie dystopische und visionäre Ideen für die Zukunft; dabei dürfen genderspezifische, ironische und humorvolle Ansätze zu HUMAN_NATURE nicht fehlen.

“If what needs to be transcended is the dualism itself, we cannot do without a philosophical anthropology - in other words, we cannot avoid raising the question: what are humans in relation to the rest of the living world? For, if the other living beings are indeed other, “alter,” they are also our kin. It is a matter of maintaining simultaneously their right to be what they are, different and autonomous life forms, and the fact that they are not a separate realm, since we are not a separate realm. The living world is made up of linked, interdependent, and interwoven alterities.

Hannah Stippl ist Künstlerin und Philosophin, radikal im ursprünglichen Sinn des Wortes, verwurzelt und der Erde verbunden. Ihre künstlerische Arbeit verbindet Malerei und hortikulturelle Installation mit künstlerischer Forschung. Zentrale Themen sind die Infragestellung des gängigen Naturbegriffes, die Analyse antiker Mythen und die Kritik einer patriarchal/dualistischen Weltsicht. Persönliche Erfahrungen lebendiger Materie als Durchmischung, Verwesung und Verwandlung sind nicht nur möglich, sondern überlebensnotwendig. Biophiles Wissen reist als blinder Passagier in Tapetenmustern, Mythen und anderen Randgebieten durch die Zeit um in künstlerischen Zuständen des Werdens sichtbar zu werden.
