Become with Each Other
Acryl auf Leinwand, 210 x 600 cm, 2023
“If what needs to be transcended is the dualism itself, we cannot do without a philosophical anthropology - in other words, we cannot avoid raising the question: what are humans in relation to the rest of the living world? For, if the other living beings are indeed other, “alter,” they are also our kin. It is a matter of maintaining simultaneously their right to be what they are, different and autonomous life forms, and the fact that they are not a separate realm, since we are not a separate realm. The living world is made up of linked, interdependent, and interwoven alterities.
If we no longer think ourselves as “humans” in the face of “nature,” but as living beings among living beings, we no longer protect nature as something “alter” that is wild, or that is a fragile resource - we defend the community of living beings to which we ourselves belong, the community that has made us and that keeps us alive.” — Baptiste Morizot “Rekindling Life. A Common Front”
